PLANO — If you’re looking for a sweet treat to help beat the heat, Henry’s Homemade Ice Cream in Plano is giving Blue Bell a run for their money.
Owner Henry Gentry has been on the block since 1992, after moving from the original Henry’s location in Philly, where he worked with his dad.
“I moved to this area and he ran the Philadelphia location, I ran the Plano location,” Gentry said. “We got started because I wanted to do something that was fun, creative.”
Plenty of shops have come and gone, but Henry’s is stilling standing. And it’s easy to see why. With unique flavors like Mexican Vanilla.
“Mexcian Vanilla is actual real vanilla, made with the extract from Mexico,” Gentry said.
And Cinnamon… and ‘Kitchen Sink.’
But there’s a special ingredient to keeping Henry’s high -quality and fresh taste.
Chew on this: Henry’s Homemade Ice Cream manufactures their goods in house! Yep, gourmet, premium ice cream galore that’s served not just at their shop, but at some local restaurants and grocery stores, too.
“We wanna make the best ice cream possible, especially since my name’s on it,” Gentry said.
Now if you’re feeling adventurous, Henry’s offers a pretty unique selection of cones. And if you’re still not convinced, Henry’s claims their ice cream comes with a beauty benefit.
“Our motto is ‘Ice cream makes you pretty,’” Gentry said. “We ask everyone to maintain, maintain, maintain.”
From first timers, to regulars, to cones, malts, and even cakes, it’s safe to say Henry’s Ice Cream knows how to satisfy your sweet tooth – from start to finish.
