Blue Bell is Back! Churning Out Ice Cream From Its Alabama Plant.

SYLACAUGA, Ala. — Happy dance time: Blue Bell is back! It’s Alabama plant is once again churning out ice cream after getting the green light from state health officials.

Blue Bell confirmed the great news Wednesday by tweeting, “We’re busy at our Sylacauga, AL, facility crankin’ out ice cream and building inventory.”

As for an exact date on when it will be back in stores, Blue Bell says stay tuned.

This is going down as the comeback of the century. Blue Bell recalled all of its ice cream and shut down all of its plants in April after the deadly listeria bacteria was found in some of its products.

Blue Bell has been producing and testing ice cream at the Sylacauga, Alabama plant since July 8. Tests by both the state and the company “found no sample products that would not meet standards,” said Jim McVay of the Alabama health department.

The struggling 108-year-old company recently got a boost from Texas billionaire Sid Bass, who took a stake in Blue Bell after the listeria outbreak.

Finally, the ice screaming is almost over.
