DALLAS -- Does election season have you down? Don't know who to choose? Well, wait just one second because another candidate has emerged.

"Big Tex is a perfect choice," Melissa Stansbery said. "He's weathered the fire, he has strong leadership skills, and I know for a fact that his platform is to put a Fletcher's Corny Dog on every table."

"He's solid," added supporter Jeri Paduch. "Everybody has to agree on that. You can't agree on everything, but everyone can agree that Big Tex rocks."

For opening weekend, the State Fair of Texas started his presidential campaign with the hit of the fair: "Big Tex for President" shirts!

"He would have a National Corny Dog Day, and you'd have to wear your cowboy boots," supporter Cathy Plumb said about his platform.

"He may look at those corn dogs to make sure they don't have GMO corn in them because he is an environmentalist," Stansbery added. "I know because he's been working the land for all these years."

One thing we know is on his platform is that he wants to take care of the kids. That's why he teamed up with Metro PCS and had the State Fair bring back Safe Kids ID Bands this year.

"Found them pretty easy to use," said local dad Gavin Felder, who used them for all three of his daughters. "Wrote our names, wrote their names and my contact number. Put them on their wristbands, and they were fine with it."

Those can be found at any entrance or information booth.

Big Tex is beloved, and he's looking out for the next generation, so why not?!

Vote Big Tex, y'all!
