DALLAS-In case you’ve been living under a rock, it’s been cold outside, but that didn't stop the city of Dallas from announcing the first bike share program at Fair Park.

“We are a perfect city for biking. It’s hard to execute it all over the city and so you've gotta start it some place," said Mayor Mike Rawlings.

Strap on your helmets and toot your bike horns, this bike rental program will host about 10 bikes inside the park. The idea is to start small and hopefully expand city wide.

Here's how it works: you swipe your credit card and ride into the sunset, pedal until your heart’s content and then return it!

"If it wasn't so cold right now I'd put my five bucks in it ride now and take it for a 30 minute spin," said Robert Gonzales.

Our thought exactly! Whose idea was it to ride bikes in the cold?

The ride might be rough this winter, but there's no denying bike sharing is here, just in time for the holiday season.
