NORTH TEXAS — It’s not exactly the kind of ‘meet the teacher’ experience parents expect as they prep to send their kids back to school.

This week alone, four school employees from three different districts, were arrested on charges ranging from sexual assault, improper relationship with a student and child porn.

Two of the cases involve teachers from Melissa High School; what’s more, both cases reportedly involved the same alleged victim.

On Tuesday, band director Michael Reddell resigned, following an arrest and accusations that he had a sexual relationship with his 16-year-old student.

Then, two days later, 50-year-old Glenn Whitten resigned, after he was arrested on charges of improper relationship, sexual contact and failure to report child abuse.

Hey, now – what the heck is going on in that high school?

Meanwhile, over in Tarrant County, Arlington ISD quickly canned 56-year-old George McKee after he was cuffed and charged with possession of child porn.

AISD says McKee was a technology manager at Boles Junior High and had “extremely limited contact” with students.

Also arrested: HEB ISD teacher, Angel Sales. The 25-year-old is charged with indecency with a child. He teaches third grade at Bellaire Elementary in Hurst.

Wow, here’s hoping these bad apples don’t ruin the start of a new school year for the bunch.
