Just when you thought there was enough going on in the world, another bombshell has been dropped.

Okay, not really.

Though this new "controversy" stems from the Sony hack that leaked thousands of personal emails, and it has everything to do with “Bond. James Bond.”

Yeah, people are freaking out over someone who may be asked to play the next Bond after Daniel Craig decides he's had enough.

It’s British actor Idris Elba, and in case you're not aware -- he's black.  Hence, the controversy.

Well, lucky for us, Elba decided to weigh in on the rumors himself.

He tweeted this picture:

It looks like he's also got a lot of supportive tweets for him getting the role. Here are just a few of them.

For all you purists out there, Ian Flemming, the man who created Bond didn't give him any family background until "Doctor No" came out, in which Sean Connery played the spy.

That's when he became Scottish. Since then, an Australian and an Irish actor has played the man, just to name a few.

But really, this is all about nothing, at least for now.  Daniel Craig is in the middle of filming "Spectre," the next Bond film, and then he's signed on for one more.

Nothing official has even come close to happening with Elba.

So, for now, there are more important things to worry about, like how you want your martini prepared on New Year’s Eve.
