DALLAS -- Some people might think a story about a bunch of virgins headed to Austin is well, weird. But hey, we're talking about Austin, the Capital of Weird. And it's about to get cheaper to visit. That's because Virgin America is launching its new non-stop service between Austin and Dallas out of Love Field. To celebrate, they're selling $39 tickets for a limited time only.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that the new kid on the field is causing some turbulence for its competitors.

We're talking about a company run by a guy who's willing to do just about anything to win us over. It's a move that's sure to set up a war in the skies. While Southwest will still offer twice as many flights from Dallas to Austin, the big question is whether there’s going to be a price war to lure us to all the super cool events Austin has to offer.

So fasten your seat belts and get ready for take-off. This Wild West showdown is likely to get pretty weird.
