DALLAS —Christmas time is here, and so is a little overtime.
A handful of stores are staying open 24 hours with retailers like Macy’s, Toys “R” Us, and Kohl’s leading the pack.
Guess it gives folks a little more time to check those things off your Christmas list.
“I’ll go to 24-hour shopping. I’ll do any kind of shopping,” Laquita Harris said. “I just love to shop! More time out and more time to get gifts for people like me! Some people just like to come hang out even if they’re not shopping.”
“I might go to Kohl’s maybe,” shopper John Cunningham added.
“Clothes and shoes and motorcycles” are on young shopper Isaiah Young’s list.
Hey, why not pick up grandma’s Christmas sweater at 3 am?! Wonder if these night owl hours will cut down on the mall madness?
“Black Friday was totally worse,” shopper Jackie Soriano exclaimed. “I came here on Black Friday and it was packed everywhere. If you have more hours, it’s like you probably won’t be as busy.”
You’ve got to wonder -- what’s it like on store staff that don’t normally pull all-nighters?
“I was working at Pacsun on Black Friday, but 24 hours, it’s kind of bad because they give you hours that you’re not asking for, but you also get more money out of it so that’s okay,” Cunningham added.
Either way, sounds like good news for last-minute shoppers everywhere.
“Actually, we love to wait until the last-minute so we can be in with the crowd!” Harris smiled.
