TALLAHASSE, FL - Hey Florida, you so cray cray! Cheers to the strange sunshine state; it's their 170th anniversary of statehood, after all!

Bizarre headlines have been grabbing our attention since the 1980's when Florida was overrun by the Cocaine Cowboys, Miami’s drug war era. What do you think inspired the movie Scarface?

We've even seen some cuckoo court cases that are enough to prompt some serious head scratching.

Remember the tug of war immigration case of Elian Gonzalez? Who could forget that little guy's face when he was removed from relatives in Miami and sent back to his dad in Cuba?

What about Casey Anthony? This trial left us asking who, what, when, where and why, then a 'not guilty' verdict.

Perhaps the most heated case of them all, the Trayvon Martin v. George Zimmerman case. After his acquittal, Zimmerman has seen his fair share of run-ins with the boys in blue.

But then there's the straight up crazy news that comes out of Florida, like pythons and gators fighting for the top of the food chain!

Or 2012's Miami cannibal attack when Rudy Eugene attacked and ate 75% of a homeless man's face.

And we all held our breath a little with the news of the three-breasted beaut. She was later exposed as a fake.

And sometimes the news out of Florida can cause major confusion. All we're gonna say is: Hanging chads.

Happy birthday, Florida! You really are living the vida loca. Maybe you've been out in the sun too long?
