DALLAS, Texas (AP) — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is deploying the Texas National Guard to five cities across the state of Texas. The move comes ahead of the general election next Tuesday.

The deployment is not to polling locations, but only as a preparation measure in case there is civil unrest after the results of the election.

So far the Texas National Guard will be sent to Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio.
