Richardson ISD is giving teachers the option to take a 1-year furlough if they don’t want to return

RICHARDSON, Texas (KDAF) — Richardson ISD has come up with a solution for teachers that do not feel safe returning to school during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The district is offering teachers the ability to take a one-year, unpaid furlough for the coming school year. While this allows staff to keep their job with Richardson ISD, they will not retain their current position. Teachers will be placed where the need is when they return.
