IRVING – Move over, Hurricane Harvey. Apparently, North Texas is not about to let the Gulf Coast have all the attention this weekend. DFW started the weekend with an earthquake early Friday morning.

The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed a  magnitude 3.1 earthquake hit the Irving and northwest Dallas area at 6:41 a.m., with a depth of 5 km, or about 3 miles.

And then, the tweets began hitting at 6:42 a.m.

Yes, TeckieGirl, it did.

Happy Friday, earthquake survivors! Let’s be safe this weekend and send all our good thoughts to the Gulf Coast states.
