DURANGO, Mexico - An arrest has been made in the murder of Marisol Espinosa -- more than a year after the Dallas woman's body was found near a bridge off Dowdy Ferry Road.

Espinosa's ex-boyfriend, Faustino Valdez, was taken into custody during a routine immigration check in Durango, Mexico. He has since been turned over to the FBI.

Dallas police had already named Valdez as a person of interest when he disappeared less than a week after 34-year-old Espinosa went missing in December of 2015.

Police say once he's transferred to DPD, he'll be charged with her murder.
