DALLAS -- Around this time last year, things were very different for America's team.
For starters, they were far from a 12-2 record. Joseph Randle had just been released from the team and suspended by the NFL after drug charges. Greg Hardy was still on the team as a defensive end; he joined mid-season after serving a four-game suspension for domestic violence. But, oh what 365 days can do.
Now the Cowboys are headed to the playoffs while Hardy's struggling to stay out of a courtroom.
"We're going to be fine in the end on this deal, said his attorney George Milner III. "You know he's not accused of murder or robbery or anything like that."
But the 28-year-old is facing a cocaine charge, one he caught back in September when Richardson PD pulled him over for a traffic violation. They searched his car and ended up finding marijuana and coke residue in his wallet.
Last month, a judge rescheduled the hearing so Hardy's lawyer could gather what he called "disturbing" video of the arrest. Monday morning he was hit with another block!
The case has been put on pause until the new Dallas County DA gets settled in. The new date is now January 13th (Friday the 13th) but Hardy's lawyer hopes they'll be able to shake off the bad juju!
"Being the lowest level of felony that you could be charged, with I doubt that any policy changes that the new DA will have to make will have any barrier on this case whatsoever," Milner said.
