DALLAS -- We love to watch movies that tell the stories of some of our favorite musicians. It gives fans the opportunity to see deep inside their lives, to get a glimpse of the good, the bad and the ugly. And we don`t mind shelling out a few bucks for it either!

The top 10 grossing biopics of modern times include two of the biggest artists of classic hip hop. Notorious, the 2009 film based on the life of the late Notorious B.I.G., came in at number nine grossing nearly $36 million. And the story about the groundbreaking rap group N.W.A, Straight Outta of Compton, which grossed $135 million in the first three weeks, is currently the top earning biopic of our time!

Some personal favorites are Selena, which landed at 11 and What`s Love Got to do with It at number eight.

The top five biopics include all-time favorite La Bamba, Coal Miner`s Daughter in the fourth spot, Ray at third and Walk the Line, the Jonny Cash story, was knocked out of the top spot by Straight out of Compton!

How well will 2Pac`s All Eyez on Me do at the box office?  We`ll have to wait and see next year.
