Socially Savvy Officer Talks to North Texas Leaders

DALLAS -- You've probably seen his videos on Facebook - without even realizing it:

Officer Tommy Norman, of Little Rock, Arkansas is not only a great cop, he's a viral sensation.

And a lot of people had the opportunity to see Officer Norman Wednesday night at Operation Blue Shield's "Purpose and Unity" event. There, he talked about the importance of something called community policing, and there were plenty of North Texas leaders in attendance.

"I just want to convey to the community a sense of trust," Dallas' Interim Police Chief David Pughes told NewsFix. "Trust on their part, and trust on our part, that we're in this together, and the trust can't be broken. And we have to work at it every day to make sure that we trust one anther going forward."
