WEST DALLAS -- Hundreds of West Dallas families will get to stay in their homes a bit longer.

A judge has delayed the eviction of 300 residents by HMK Limited pending a hearing set for November 7.

Earlier this month, HMK decided to evict those people by October 31 rather than bring its properties up to  new city standards -- sparking a battle between them and the City of Dallas.

The are reportedly working on a deal, though, which would allow all of the residents to stay until the end of the school year.
