ARLINGTON -- A traveling obstacle course is visiting the Metroplex this weekend.

"We are at Veridian in Arlington, which is on North Collins," said Lauren Danecek, the event's Operations Manager. "And we are having our Tough Mudder event here this weekend.  We expect about five-and-a-half thousand people on Saturday so it's a wonderful opportunity for a load of people to get very muddy."

Yep, the Tough Mudder race is over ten miles long, and there are plenty of obstacles to overcome.

"Depending on if you're doing Tough Mudder or the Tough Mudder Half, we have anywhere between 14 to 24 obstacles on the course," said Danecek.

And unlike some mud-slinging races -- we're looking at you, Donald and Hillary -- this one's all about working together.

"We encourage teamwork, camaraderie, and not only will your team help you but your fellow mudders will as well, Danecek said. "Yes, you will get muddy. Yes, you will get wet. Yes, you'll have a load of fun, but most of all it's that special something that we get to deliver event after event which makes all of us keep coming back for more."

Tough Mudder is in Arlington Saturday and Sunday.
