WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today most women would kill for a pair of Christian Louboutins. Rewind 77 years: Dorothy's ruby red slippers were to die for -- at least in the Land Of Oz. But, after all these years,  we're not sure if the Wicked Witch of the West wants anything to do with them.

That's why The Smithsonian, where the iconic shoes are on display, has created a Kickstarter campaign to #KeepThemRuby. Apparently, they've become more rusty than ruby.

That's like Michael Jackson's white glove turning into an off-white glove-- It just ain't right!

So, the money raised will reportedly pay for a special climate-controlled case to help conserve the shoes! Their goal is currently set at $300,000!

Well, one thing is for sure, it's going to take more than courage to get those babies looking new again!
