DALLAS -- It was quite the party on Saturday night at the African Muzik Magazine Awards!! AFFRIMMA is the only award ceremony that showcases all music genres for African Artists.

More than 50 artists from Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States showed up for the ceremony. Special guests included Cynthia Bailey from the Real Housewives of Atlanta and DJ Duffey from Basketball Wives.

Some of the biggest names in Africa don't get to grace the stage at the BET awards, so AFRIMMA founder Anderson Obiagwu wanted to change that. "They give the awards before the shows get started, so we're trying to create a platform for our own people," Obiagwu said.

"[I'm] really excited to see how it goes. I looking forward to seeing all the celebrities. I look up to them so much and just have a great time period," comedian Aphrican Ape said.
