Scientists in western India claim to have found traces of gold in the urine of an indigenous cow breed. Talk about a cash cow!

The scientists at the Junagadh Agricultural University examined the urine of 500 cows during seven years of extensive research on Gir cows, saying that though the levels vary according to breed and age, gold was found in all 500 samples.

That’s a lot of gold in them thar cows!

The analysis of the urine samples showed 10 to 30 milligrams of gold in a liter of urine; the scientists said the gold can be extracted and solidified using chemical processes.

And that’s not all! In addition to the liquid bling, half the samples also showed immense medicinal values, potentially increasing the life expectancy of human beings.
