WAXAHACHIE -- The man accused of holding his baby at gunpoint at a Waxahachie hospital is an Iraq War veteran who suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, according to his uncle.

It's still not clear why Lorenzo Zarate drove his two daughters from Austin to Waxahachie, where he sparked an hour-long standoff, but his uncle tells KRLD what Zarate did was so out of character, that he believes it has to do with PTSD.

The uncle says Zarate helped hunt down Saddam Hussein and has had trouble adjusting to civilian life.
