PLANO --  For many people, Sunday means two things: Church and football.

Prestonwood Baptist Chuch in Plano decided to combine them at its "Fantasy Football and BBQ."

"We're just men having fun, enjoying some barbecue and some fellowship, and using some fantasy football tips to draw the net, if you will, and bring people in," said David Shivers, minister at Prestonwood Church.

Shivers believes it is a great way to bring the congregation together. "Fantasy for me is an opportunity for men to stay connected to relationships with guys you wouldn't necessarily normally hang out with on a regular basis," he said.

The church invited some NFL experts to help members get their fantasy football strategy worked out, even if they have not played before.

"I wanted to sit there, and get some background and see what I can learn," Zack Howell said. Maybe I'll be interested in trying it out this year."

"I like to be ahead of the game. I like to be prepared," Alex Dominguez said. "If there's any edge I can have on my competitors, I'll take it."

Just be sure you're not using the new strategy for fantasy football services like Draft Kings. Those are illegal in the state of Texas.
