When Matt Ryan reprised his Constantine role of John Constantine on Arrow in Season 4, fans were left buzzing. That meant Constantine existed in the Arrow-verse and could show up anywhere — be it on The Flash or newcomer Legends of Tomorrow.

Thus far, it’s simply not come to pass though, with many fans wondering if they’ll ever see the master of the occult again. Unfortunately, it sounds like the upcoming season is already too jam-packed to make room for him, but at least one show would like to use him in the future.

Legends of Tomorrow executive producer Phil Klemmer tells Zap2it, “If this show goes as many seasons as I hope it does, it would be a crime for him not to appear in our universe.”

He’s not wrong. After all, the titular Legends spend their days hopping around in time encountering all sorts of evil. It may be useful to have someone like Constantine on the ship in case things get a little too over the top.

That said, with one of Season 2’s villains being Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), perhaps this really is the perfect time to integrate John into the story. Magic vs. magic would surely be an amazing fight to watch.

Until that announcement is made, fans are going to have to remain on the edge of their seat until he finally makes a return.
