LAS VEGAS -- Remember when we told you about Miss Teen USA Karlie Hay and her dirty mouth?
Well, after she was crowned Miss Teen USA Saturday night in Las Vegas, we all found out Karlie Hay, from Texas, used the n-word quite a bit on Twitter in 2013 and 2014.
After winning, Hay put out an apology out on Twitter saying:
She's owned up, admitted her mistake and it looks like she's going to keep her crown. Yeah, the Miss Universe Organization is standing by her side releasing this statement:
"Karlie learned many lessons through those personal struggles that reshaped her life and values. We as an organization are committed to supporting her continued growth."
Miss Teen USA was already getting some heat during the pageant. Chrissy Teagan added fuel to the fire on the lack of diversity in the top five by tweeting:
Now, people are saying the pageant is trivializing racial slurs and she should be punished.
So, whether you think she should give up the crown or not, just know that what happens on social media will get out, eventually.
