As if having Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) on “Arrow” isn’t bad enough, he’s on the move. After spending way too long just bringing pain and sorrow to Star City — and occasionally helping — Merlyn is becoming a utility player to The CW’s DC universe, much like Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller).

TVLine reports that Barrowman has restructured his contract to maintain regular series status but allowing him to pop up on not only “Arrow,” but “The Flash,” “Legends of Tomorrow” and “Supergirl.”

When it was first announced that Miller would be doing something similar, becoming a recurring character across the four shows, executive producer Greg Berlanti said, “In success we hope to continue with other characters finding their way across all the shows.”

With the shared universe between the shows becoming more and more entwined, there’s no telling which cast member will step up to the plate for a new show next. Perhaps this would be a way to sneak Constantine (Matt Ryan) back into the universe, since that’s clearly something fans aren’t going to give up on.
