Dallas may be the hub of the Metroplex but Fort Worth is where it’s at for summer fun. The sun is shining, the heat hasn’t reached triple digits quite yet and the fall is still a couple months away. It’s time to break up with Netflix and use this list to get out there and give your couch a rest. Here are 7 things you should be doing instead of binge watching Netflix.
Sundance is located in beautiful downtown Fort Worth. You can take the day to shop and dine. While you’re at it, enjoy a live band in the square and run through the water fountains. Sundance has something for the whole family but also has an exciting night time flare with jazz club Scat Jazz.

It's going to be a hot one this weekend, but fear not. You are able to cool off at Safari Splash ($5 per Zoo guest) before, during or after a stroll through the park. During your visit, be on the lookout for animals taking a dip in their exhibits, like the greater one-horned rhino pictured above. Thanks to @darlingniki12 for this great summertime shot! Show us how you're spending your summer days here at the Fort Worth Zoo by including #fortworthzoo in your photos.
Fun for the whole family, Fort Worth Zoo has a large gorilla exhibit as well as an entertaining family of monkeys. Make sure to bring some extra change to load up on fudge and souvenirs.
