There’s a new Vixen in the Arrowverse and now we know who will play her. Maisie Richardson-Sellers is joining “Legends of Tomorrow” as Amaye Jiwe, who happens to also be Vixen.
If that’s a little bit confusing, considering viewers have already met Vixen — played by Megalyn EK — and her name was Mari McCabe, The CW can help clear up any confusion you may have.
A description of the character reads, “Amaya Jiwe – better known as Vixen – is the newest superhero to board the Waverider and join the ranks of the ‘Legends of Tomorrow.’ Like her granddaughter, Mari McCabe, Amaya’s powers are derived from the mysterious Tantu Totem, which allows her to magically access the abilities of animals.”
That’s right, Amaya is Mari’s grandmother, which makes total sense given the time travel involved in “Legends of Tomorrow.” Why wouldn’t they pluck someone from history to join them on their adventures?
Richardson-Sellers is joining the show as a series regular, meaning she’s going to be sticking around for a while. The actress comes to “Legends” after appearing on “The Originals” as Eva Sinclair and “Of Kings and Prophets” as Michal. Oh and she appeared in a little movie called “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” as a character named Korr Sella.
“Legends of Tomorrow” returns Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
