FORT WORTH -- In a sad update, the cat named "Po" found set on fire and stabbed at Harrison Cemetery in Fort Worth has died. Now, the search continues for his attacker.

“I have never seen a cat with this significant of trauma before,” said Benjamin Morris with Animal Hope.

The folks at Animal Hope in Fort Worth quickly took in Po, and this feline fighter's story made international headlines.

“People from all over the world were following him and rooting for him, and I think that matters,” Morris said.

Even though he was making strides, like eating and walking, unfortunately, Po passed away Wednesday.

Animal Hope workers say at least something positive has come from this terrible case: Po put a spotlight on an issue that's running wild across the country -- animal cruelty.
