DUNCANVILLE -- There's no better feeling than walking the stage after putting in 12 years of blood, sweat and tears! But before 500 graduating seniors from
Duncanville High School pick up their diplomas next week, they've got one more assignment to complete.
"We came for a Senior Walk," explained Isaac Soto. "Just to walk around the schools that we use to go to."
The Class of 2016 stopped by Bilhartz Elementary to show the students what graduating looks like.
"I'm really happy that we're the first class to do this in Duncanville," added Soto. "And it's been a blessing to be able to do it."
This new "Senior Walk" trend is sweeping the nation. This time, it has nothing to do with plumping lips or some crazy dance.
Fourth graders like Rumalda Dominguez are taking notes on this learning experience.
"I felt proud for them. They actually accomplished their goals," Dominguez told NewsFix. "I wish that when I grow up I can walk down the hall or the same school where I use to go."
