VALLEY RANCH -- Just last season, the Cowboys lost their bell cow running back to a division rival, but they're hoping their experience goes a little bit better this year. The Boys signed former Washington Redskin Alfred Morris to a two-year deal -- giving them a trio of Morris, Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar heading into next season.

Over the last four years, the only running back with more rushing yards than Morris is future Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson.

The best thing is that they got him on the cheap: Morris' deal has a base value of only $3.5 million, with a chance to earn up to $5.5 million with incentives. If anyone knows about value, it's the guy who still drives a '91 Mazda 626.

But Morris wasn't the only signing to get excited about. Dallas added much-needed depth to defensive line with the addition of defensive end Benson Mayowa.

So a running back and a defensive lineman, looks like the path may be clear to dedicate that fourth pick in next month's draft to an eventual successor to Tony Romo or they could do something completely different.

Who knows? It's the draft, so stay tuned.
