DALLAS -- With some fans camping out over night and others arriving before the sun came up, the opening of Carlo's Bake Shop in Dallas caused quite a stir in Dallas Saturday.

The main attraction: owner and reality TV star Buddy Valastro.

"We were saying, everything's bigger in Texas, including the line," the Cake Boss star told NewsFix. "I think this is the biggest line we've had for all our openings so far. Everything's bigger in Texas."

Many fans wanted to try Valastro's famous pastries, especially the cannoli, but most of them just wanted some time with the Cake Boss.

"I have been watching Cake Boss since I was 8 years old, and I just wanted to see Buddy," fan Alyssa Heimann told NewsFix before embracing Valastro.

"I just hope they know that I truly love them as much as they love me," Valastro said.

So are there any regrets on expanding his father's business from New Jersey to North Texas?

"I've had so many people come into my stores up north and say, 'When are you coming to Texas? When are you coming to Texas?' I would say, 'Soon, I promise,' and we couldn't be happier being in the Big D," he said. "This is one of those 'pinch me' moments in life to say, 'Really? This is my life?' To hear the fans and see the families. It's just awesome. Touches my heart."
