DALLAS -- It’s been more than two weeks since mother of four, Marisol Espinosa, disappeared on her way to work on December 29. But, for her family, the search is as hot as ever.
“Mari is still missing, and we're not going to stop until we find her,” says Wendy Lopez, Marisol’s cousin.
Saturday around 30 volunteers and one horse searched Crawford Park, which is a few miles from Marisol’s home.
“We’re hoping to find something that gives us a direction of where to continue to go because we're still going out there blind,” says Lopez.
But, while the search continued, the family’s suspicions have shifted to Marsol’s ex-boyfriend and father of her three children.
“He showed face on a vigil Sunday evening (after she disappeared),” says Lopez. “But we haven`t seen him since. His phone is cut off, he hasn`t been back to check up on the kids... his kids."
So far, Police have not officially named a suspect. But Lopez, claims there is a history of domestic violence between Marisol and her ex.
“Between him and her, and before her with other women,” she says.
But for now, they’ll continue to search as they hold on to hope that Marisol will still be found.
“My family is very strong,” Lopez says through tears. “We haven’t gone through anything like this. I mean we’ve gone through stuff. But, we`re holding together.”
