HOLLYWOOD, CA -- The glitz, the glamour, the gowns.

It all adds-up to one golden night in Hollywood. That’s right, the stars will shine a bit brighter tonight at the 73rd Golden Globe Awards.

Hollywood heavyweights and red carpet royalty will descend upon the historic Beverly Hilton for a night of celebration; and for some, a night of sadness…but then again, it’s “just an honor to be nominated,” right?

This year’s list of nominees is a mix of silver screen vets and movie newbies. The incomparable Cate Blanchett is nominated for best actress for her film Carol.

She’s up against first-time nominee Brie Larson for her role in the highly acclaimed Room.

Then, there are the sentimental favorites like Sylvester Stallone. He reprises his role as “Rocky” in Creed, which won him a nod in the best supporting actor category.

But, it’s not just a night for big screen accomplishments; Globes are also up for grabs in the small screen categories where cable and streaming shows lead the pack of nominees.

Funnyman and often controversial comedian, Ricky Gervais, is back as this year’s host. His punchlines will likely be as unpredictable as the night’s winners.

As they say, the road to the Oscars goes through the Globes, and the winners tonight often predict who’ll claim Hollywood’s most prestigious award next month.
