IRVING, TX-One Irving neighborhood is still in shock after 83-year-old Dessie Hancock was beaten to death.

The attack happened a little after 4p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Cops say the trio went to a house on the 1300 block of Boyd Dr. looking for a friend.

Dessie just so happen to walk to the same house to visit her neighbor, that's when Irving cops say 20-year-old Jesse Perkins punched, kicked and stomped Dessie.

She was left unconscious and near-death.

Cops arrested three brothers connected to the crime. They all were initially charged with aggravated assault, but after Dessie was taken off of life support Sunday evening and died, the charges have been upgraded for two of the brothers.

Twenty-year-old Jesse Perkins has been charged with murder, his brother, 18-year-old Thomas Perkins is charged with interference with public duties, hindering apprehension and tampering with physical evidence.

Cops have dropped all charges against the third brother, 19-year-old Edward Perkins. They claim his actions didn't rise to the level of criminal responsibility.

But family and neighbors are still left with one question, why?

Irving investigators are trying to piece together a motive, but for now these two brothers will be spending the holidays behind bars.

For family and friends of Dessie, the holidays will be a time to remember their a woman they describe as sweet and kind.
