There’s one thing I can’t get out of my head after President Obama’s recent speech on terror—It’s how bad he looked!
Stress on the job can age the heck out of you.
Take a look at Obama seven years ago and now. The terrorists have won when it comes to making us look exhausted and filling us with High Anxiety.
Since Boston, Chattanooga, Paris, and San Bernardino, have you looked over your shoulder more while at church or synagogue?
Thought about something bad happening at the food court while at the mall?
Made a point to sit near the exit when going to a movie, or wondered if security is really good while at a game?
I’ve done all those things lately, even moreso than right after 9-11.
ISIS also means anxious, and that’s exactly what they want. Sure all this anxiety may be aging us, but the next time you’re in a public place and start freaking out, take a deep breath and remember what I just said, that's exactly what they want.
And think of stories like this: There have been dozens of major terror plots thwarted here since September 11.
Do the math and it comes out to about one attack stopped every other month. The thought of preventing all the mayhem and martyrs should, hopefully, make you feel a little bit better. The flu is more of a threat to you than a terrorist.
So go ahead, listen to clichés from the President, when he says, “We will prevail by being strong and smart, resilient and relentless.”
Even if it means taking years off our lives, thinking about the animals who don’t want us to live.
