NEW YORK, NY-People were up early this morning for one of music's most anticipated lists, he 58th Annual Grammy nominations.

In a room filled with the Taylor Swift’s and the Drake’s of the world it's the smooth sounds of Fort Worth's Leon Bridges we're most excited about!

He's nominated for best R&B album.

He's up against artists like d'Angelo, Andra Day, Jazmine Sullivan and Charlie Wilson.

This local guy has had quite the year, releasing his debut album “Coming Home,” being featured on the soundtrack to the movie Concussion and killing it on last weekend's Saturday Night Live stage.

A Grammy would certainly be a sweet way to kick start this soul singer's career.

But there's one man who will be taking the Grammy's by storm this year, Kendrick Lamar with a total of 11 nominations, including album of the year.

Taylor swift and the Weeknd are also big contenders, but that's not a big surprise!

Bridges didn't make the list for best new artist but many thought he would. Artists like Sam Hunt, Meghan Trainor, James Bay, Tori Kelly and Courntey Barnett rounded out that category.

Here's hoping the Grammy’s are smooth sailin' for Bridges.

You can watch music's greatest night on February 15th on CBS.
