DALLAS, TX -- Dem Boyz may be off this weekend, but that didn't keep some star players off the gridiron.

Darren McFadden and Cole Beasley were on hand at the official ribbon cutting at the newly refurbished football field at St. Phillip's School and Community Center.

"It's a very special day here at St. Phillips," Ford Regional Manager Greg Wood said. "They're a phenomenal faith-based organization that's done so much for the community. There was a need to help refurbish the football filed here, so we were excited to partner with SI Now, with the 'Powered by Ford' Build for the Future event here today."

The Dallas Cowboys partnered with Ford and SI Now to help rebuild a field that's become a staple in the community.

"Instead of just talking about it, they actually came out here and did it. They built something from the ground up. Now, these kids have a brand new, safe place; not only to play, but just to live their lives, "SI Now Host Maggie Gray said.

"All these volunteers built some new bleachers, they're fixing this place up so these kids can have something they're proud of and excited about and take pride in," Dallas Cowboys legend Randy White told NewsFix.

"Football is huge, and a big influence on these kids and their outlook on life, and how they move forward in life. Having a facility they can come to and be proud of, and something you can go to and be apart of, the community can be apart of, I think is a great thing."
