DUNCANVILLE -It’s no secret, Cowboys Nation is populated with some of the craziest, die-hard, bleed blue and silver fans in the league; Melody Jones is no exception.
She has an entire room dedicated to the Cowboys in her house. Jones has been collecting memorabilia since she was in high school back in the 70’s.
“That’s when the cowboys drafted Charlie Waters he was a defensive back and he became my favorite player because he was so cute!” Jones told NewsFix.
There are signed footballs, Christmas trees and teddy bears; pretty much anything with a blue star can be found in Melody's Cowboys collection.
But, her prized piece is a picture she took with Waters when she was in high school. The best part? Melody was able to get Waters to sign it, almost 30 years later.
“He said, 'I was a hippie.' I said, 'Yes you were,'" she said with a laugh.
Most of her keepsakes were stuck in storage until she moved into a house with enough room to put it all on display.
“As I was opening boxes of memorabilia it was like oh I forgot about this and I forgot about that it was pretty exciting,” she says.
Even though her room is filled with assorted spirited pieces, Jones says she has no plans to stop collecting.
"Every six months or so, I`ll go on a binge and go online and buy a bunch of stuff," Jones said, "I am a Cowboys fan through and through."
