PAULS VALLEY, OK - A truck carrying hundreds of thousands of honeybees overturned on I-35 in Garvin County, Oklahoma. That`s when all the bees were set loose on the highway.
When one deputy got there the swarm took over his patrol vehicle. Believe it or not the deputy was only stung one time throughout the entire ordeal.
Scott Woods, one of the first responders on the scene who helped pull the truck driver away from danger, wasn`t so lucky, “I got stung on the lip, end of the nose, around the side of the eye and in the back.” The driver was later released from the hospital with minor injuries.
Beekeepers worked until nightfall to capture as many bees as possible. Then they set a bonfire to keep the insects from attacking people. Hey, you know what they say: when you`re out on the road, “bee” careful.
