DALLAS -- If you don't like Spam, well, you wouldn't like this cooking competition.

Nearly 20 Spam-based dishes were presented to judges at Fair Park in the 25th annual Great American Spam Championship.

From street tacos to jalapeno poppers, casseroles to Cuban sandwiches, the contestants showed off just how versatile "Specially Processed Artificial Meat" can be, even if the contestants themselves acknowledge that Spam isn't the most popular ingredient.

The winner was Candice Haun, whose Texas-style hot-n-spicy black eyed peas won over the judges and earned Haun the blue ribbon.
