DALLAS-Looks like the days of meeting face to face are over. Thanks to technology, we've got FaceTime, conference calls and not to mention social media.

All of that is rolling into our schools; Dallas ISD trustee Miguel Solis is hosting a telephone and Twitter town hall meeting Wednesday evening.

So say goodbye to the traditional Q & A session -- you can now do that from the comfort of your own home!

The board is discussing an upcoming 1.6 billion bond, English language learning and raising wages for hourly employees.

But DISD isn't the only one trying on virtual town hall meetings, last Thursday Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings hosted a meeting using Twitter and Periscope.  Fifteen hundred people took part, more than the city's ever had for a town hall.

Question is, will people actually tweet or call in for the school district? Or will this virtual meeting fail to meet expectations?
