DALLAS -- I read a quote the other day that I just can't get out of my head. It's in this LA Times story about how so many of you want fewer TV channels with a lower cable bill.

A professor at USC said, "When it comes to living in a world of 200 channels, people don't want massive amounts of choice."

He added, "Most people hate The Cheesecake Factory because there are too many selections."

For the record, I'm a fan of The Cheesecake Factory.

But, I think the guy has a point when it comes to how having too may options gives us too much to think about -- and it's not good!

Massive amounts of choices are all around us. It's enough to make you feel like you're looking at this:

Trying to pick out a paint color or a tie. How do you feel when the baseball schedule comes out? Or you stare at the map at the outlet mall?

Come on, I know you feel overwhelmed when you go to the app store. I don't care if "there's an app for that," because I'll never find it!

Again, I present:

Okay, take a deep breath and relax, knowing we have something in common when it comes to selection anxiety.

Which leads me to these guys.

Seventeen republican presidential candidates? Look at them, all dressed up with soundbites to go. There are too many!!

The only thing we're hearing is the squeaky wheel. How the heck are we supposed to feel good about any of them when just looking at them makes you feel like this?

Republican Choice Dizziness

Perhaps, the Republicans should listen to that professor at USC.

Hey, we know many Republicans are not pro-choice; perhaps they should remember these words as they give us so much to choose from!
