MYRTLE BEACH, SC -- It was an escape that made us lock our doors and check on our kids. Brent Jozefkowicz, a registered sex offender walked away from a Fort Worth halfway house in Early August. He cut off his ankle bracelet and soon, a manhunt began.

On Tuesday, it was all over. Cops in South Carolina say they found Jozefkowicz dead Saturday of what looks like a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

But before the search came to an end, DPS officers were also hot on the trail of those who helped Jozefkowicz escape. Two men and two women were arrested for hindering apprehension, a third-degree felony. If convicted, they face up to 10 years behind bars and a $10,000 fine.

In April, another sex offender disappeared from the same halfway house in Fort Worth. Charles Sprague was later captured. No word yet if the four had any connection in Sprague's escape.
