Folks come up with new and innovative ideas every day. So, when folks need to get some cash to jump start their new products, most head to the Internet to fund their inventions.

“Crowd funding is a great way to get the word out about your invention, your product, without having to spend an arm and a leg,” Michael Messer said.

Messer has decided to try to kick start a campaign to raise $50,000 for his new product.

“Simple Stir is the world's first microwave food cover that uses the power of the turn table to stir your food.” Messer said. He’s been working on his invention for the past three years; he was inspired after his wife burned herself while microwaving her meal.

“As I was treating the burn, I thought of the old joke, 'There's got to be a better way!'"

This full time accountant’s better way has cost him countless hours creating a design on a budget. “We’re chalk full of ideas, but we really have to work with what we have," he said.

Now with a 3D printed prototype, Messer is trying to get his product to market and into your kitchen.

“Honestly, I’m doing everything that I can to get the product out there.”
