PLANO — Oscar Figueroa will remain in detention. The former HEB ISD principal pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of coercion and enticement of a minor Thursday.

The judge denied his request for bail.

Figueroa was arrested July 7 during a sting operation at Stonebriar Mall in Frisco. The Feds say he put an ad on Craigslist looking for a teenage boy who would perform oral sex at a movie theatre. But when the principal showed up, they say he discovered the 16-year-old boy was really an undercover agent.

Despite the allegations, Figueroa’s family and supporters packed the courtroom Thursday. But no one was talking after the ruling.

The married father of three was the principal at Viridian Elementary School. He resigned this earlier this week.

If convicted, Figueroa faces between 10 years and life in prison.

Looks like parents might need to tell their kids that “Stranger Danger” could be closer than they think.
