BRENHAM, TX — One day after announcing it’s making a comeback (almost) and making us do a happy dance, the folks over at Blue Bell took to Twitter to answer your questions.
In case you missed it, Blue Bell said Wednesday it will start test production of ice cream at its plant in Alabama later this month.
Uh… hey, you forget to answer the most important question — When the heck will we be able to dig into a half-gallon container of cookies ‘n’ cream ice cream?!
It’s unclear, but Blue Bell promised on its web site to get product back on store shelves “as quickly as possible.”
As you know, the company was forced to recall its entire line of products in April because of listeria contamination fears.
Blue Bell’s plants, including the one in Brenham, Texas, were shut down for cleaning. It’s taken longer than expected because listeria is tough to get rid of and can live on surfaces for years.
Sigh… for now, we’ll have to hang our hopes on the test run. We have our fingers AND our toes crossed. You know you do, too.
