COPPELL -- Folks in Coppell are shaken up after a shooting Sunday evening.

“At 6:11 PM we got phone calls that shots were fired at Coppell Middle School East,” Coppell PD spokesperson Sammy Lujan said.

The victim was Charles West, 18. He was playing a game of pick-up basketball near the school and was shot once in the arm. He has since been released from the hospital. On Twitter, he posted, “I’m fine. May the Lord be with everyone.”

West will soon head to BYU on a football scholarship.

This isn’t the first time West has ended up in the news this year.

Back in January, Coppell PD says he ordered a prostitute from for a 'foot fetish' service. According to the affidavit, when she got to his house he allegedly held a knife to her neck and forced her to have sex with him.

West’s lawyer, Hunt Bonneau spoke with Newsfix back in February about the charges.

“The charges stem from accusations and right now we haven`t had a chance to test the accusations or even look at the reliability of the accuser,” Bonneau said at the time.

After reviewing cell phone footage of Sunday's attack, Coppell P.D. has now made an arrest. Police say West positively identified his shooter in a line up.  The suspect's name has not been released.

Coppell cops told NewsFix that West says he has no idea why he was shot.
