DALLAS, TX -- The Cowboys, Stars and Mavs may all be in their off-seasons right now, but that didn’t stop them from having busy weekends!

First off, it was draft weekend for both the Mavs and Stars! The Mavs made history by picking up Satnam Singh in the second round, the first ever Indian born player taken in the NBA Draft!

As for their first rounder, Dallas snagged Justin Anderson, a solid 6-6 guard out of Virginia who averaged 12 points a game last year for #2 seeded Cavaliers!

Out on the ice, the Stars were also picking their team of the future. With the #12 overall pick in the NHL Draft they tagged 18 year old Denis Guryanov out of Russia… but the biggest move was swapping a seventh round pick to the San Jose Sharks for the negotiating rights to goalie Antti Niemi. Niemi won a Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks back in 2010.

It’s a big move for a team that ranked 26th overall in the league last year, allowing 3.1 goals a game, and might be the missing piece to get back to the playoffs!

Finally there was another Dez sighting out at Dirk’s Heroes Celebrity Baseball game! Yeah Dez showed up for the charity event, and even threw up the X for fans… all this while reports are out that Dez’s agents and the Cowboys have finally started negotiations back up for a long term deal! Yeah, it definitely looks like 88 is set to be a long term Cowboy soon!

So yeah, nobody played a game this weekend… but all three teams made some big moves, that just might bring some wins back to Big D!
