DALLAS -- Let’s face it, women have been wearing makeup since the beginning of time. But time after time, we hear comments like, “What are you hiding? That’s so superficial. Are you that insecure?”

Yeah, we’re talking hardcore makeup shaming.

Well now, some folks are fighting back against the haters with the help of hashtag #ThePowerOfMakeup. Women are posting pictures of themselves all over the Internet wearing makeup on just half their face.

This was all started with a YouTube video from makeup artist Nikkie. She’s inspired thousands who are mirroring her look, showing they can be beautiful with or without a contoured face, long lashes or a fierce lip.

Here’s hoping the Power of Makeup Movement is a foundation for change.
